Sony at SMPTE 2009

A week has now passed since the successful SMPTE 2009 event in Sydney, below is an announcement of what Sony had to showcase;

Powerful content management solutions from Sony on show at SMPTE09

Sydney – 21 July, 2009 – Sony will be featuring HDXchange™, its robust and versatile content management solution, as part of its lineup at the Sony stand at SMPTE 09, between 21 and 24 July. HDXchange is a networked IT-based hardware/software suite for managing standard and high definition content. Designed for any production environment where video content is shared amongst several users, the new system makes information sharing easier and more efficient, from ingest to editing to final output.

HDXchange was created by Sony to simplify collaborative workflows for corporate or institutional users, smaller broadcasters and production companies. “Organisations of all types – broadcast and increasingly non-broadcast – have a growing need to share video content among multiple in-house users, sometimes beyond just one building into complexes or even different locations,” said Nick Buchner, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Content Creation at Sony Australia.

Sony brings new studio series line of HD studio cameras and multi-format production switcher technology to SMPTE09

Sydney – 21 July, 2009 – Sony will be showing its lineup of high definition studio cameras and multi-format production switchers for the first time in Australia at SMPTE09, between 21 and 24 July 2009. The new HSC-300 and HXC-100 cameras and MVS-6000 switcher will be part of the collection of industry leading products at the Sony stand for this premiere event.

The new HSC-300 and HXC-100 cameras and MVS-6000 switcher are designed to provide broadcasters and other organisations with a high-quality and accessible entry into HD production. The new equipment is based on the proven performance of Sony’s HDC Series studio cameras and MVS Series switchers, which are the production tools of choice for TV broadcast and live event content creation.

HSC-300 and HXC-100 cameras

Both the HSC-300 and HXC-100 cameras use Sony’s digital triax transmission technology. This allows customers to use their facility’s existing triax cable infrastructures for a seamless and cost-effective transition to digital transmission and ultimately to HD.

MVS-6000 Switcher

Sony is also expanding its successful line of MVS Series production switchers with the new MVS-6000, which inherits many of the capabilities of the MVS-8000G in a small and efficient design. The new multi-format switcher is expandable with up to 49 inputs and is available in configurations up to 2.5M/E.
