Ron's art has had a profound influence on modern popular culture through his work with the likes of Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ridley Scott & Jim Cameron. His artistic talents have been commissioned by these iconic directors to assist them developing their vision from concept to creation, and ultimately to the big screen.
Conference Outline
The key focus is in the areas of the creative workflow from developing the conceptual art and design to production and CGI in film and TV production.
Ron Cobb will take us through his incredible journey with Hollywood productions he has been involved with for over 30 years. From his first break in the industry, to his involvement in the production of iconic films that used his concepts and imagery inspired by the screenplay and the director's interpretations. With the some of the original artworks on hand, Ron will walk us through his artistic interpretations, and how he worked with the director's and writer's visions.
Ron's wisdom, through his years of experience and working on some iconic Hollywood feature films will provide industry delegates unforgettable inspiration and knowledge.
Current industry case studies by some of Australia's top industry designers will be presented, highlighting their work from concept to creation.
This conference is developed for all industry professionals who work with in with the early conceptual design of machinery, creatures, environments and virtual sets. From storyboard artists, conceptual designers through to the animators, modellers and visual effects artists.

The audience are senior professional designers in the film, broadcast, design and visualisation. These industry professionals work with in developing the early conceptual design of machinery, creatures, environments and virtual sets. These early concepts are developed through a pipeline of high performance systems, comprising of hardware (PC & Mac Workstations) and professional software applications. Their tools are configured for high volumes of processing and performance to deliver "Hollywood" level graphics in film, television, commercials, industrial design and education.
